document.documentElement.className='js'; From the Purrfect Bow Wow Brunch to a Forever Home - Michigan Humane

Sharon Jurcak-Zaleski, an almost decade old donor, joined us for the Purrfect Bow Wow Brunch in October with the intention of giving back. What she didn’t realize while heading to brunch that Sunday morning, was that her household and life was about to change.

Sharon inherited her love of dogs from her dad, who was a Sargeant in the police force and would bring home rescues to find their families and nurse them back to health. Sharon, already a mother to two rescues at home, met Cow at the Purrfect Bow Wow Brunch. It started with an innocent treat and a “sit” request from Sharon, but before brunch was over when Cow would see Sharon walking toward him, he would sit on command before she could even get to him. There was something about Cow that reminded Sharon of a recently passed on pup and the connection was real.

Sharon brought home Cow, who is now warmly known as Ollie through Michigan Humane’s foster-to-adopt program.  In the first week, Ollie bonded with the whole family and fell in love with his canine sisters, ShotZ and Alfie, also rescues.

Sharon’s motivation for adopting rescues is the love they give in return. “They love you so much. They are so dedicated as animals and pets. It breaks my heart when someone passes on, and they have nowhere to go. I love adopting adults that need a home!”

This year for Christmas Sharon and her family will be foregoing exchanging presents and opting for Michigan Humane’s Amazon Wishlist. If your family is interested, click this link here.

Thank you, Sharon, for your years of support. We couldn’t do it without people like you, with big hearts!
